No Begging/Geen Bedel

Previously we informed our readers of the “no begging signs” that will be erected and today we noticed two signs being put up. We wish to thank the Municipality for planting the signs that can assist our Operational Staff in their task to address begging in Mossel Bay. Frequently there are campers that like to share their food with persons that come begging at the fence.  Now one can point out the signs to the Samaritans as well as the beggars.  On a lighter note, on the second photo above, even the dassie decided not to beg and left.

There are 12 “No Begging/Geen Bedel” signs, as on the pictures, to be erected and 10 of these are funded by the CID.  Once again we want to ask residents and guests to refrain from giving beggars food or money.  Please support organisations such as the Round Table, Helpende Hand, Heart-to-Heart or one of the many churches in our beautiful Mossel Bay.

Thank you to our operational staff that help to promote public safety and assists with the prevention of crime. Your hard work is sincerely appreciated.

Thank you also to the property owners for supporting the CID with expanding our footprint. Should you want more information regarding the process and how to cast a “Yes” vote for the CID extension, contact the CID Manager, Werner Schwella, per email at werner@schwella.co.zaThe CID will make a big difference in the new extended area by promoting public safety and the prevention of crime as is already done in the current CID’s geographical borders.
